Ecoprint

Also known as bundle dye, eco-printing is a variation of plant-based dyeing that involves setting the imprint of the plant (fresh or dried) directly onto the fabric and allowing the initial shape of a petal or leaf to imprint itself into the fiber after a steam bath. This application of natural dyeing is also an ecological practice that requires few plants and reflects local or seasonal vegetation. During the baking process, participants will be able to discover the tataki zomé technique and practice it on fabric samples. Participants may bring additional materials, as well as flowers and foliage, if they wish.
