Language: EN

To mark the opening of Simon Fujiwara: A Whole New World, Mudam invites you to an artist talk with Simon Fujiwara. Over nearly twenty years of practice, the Japanese-British artist has developed a singular, immersive approach to contemporary culture – weaving together humour, critique and emotional insight to reflect on what it feels like to live in today’s media-saturated world.

The exhibition transforms Mudam into a sequence of thematic environments inspired by the dramaturgy of theme parks, where Fujiwara brings together works from across his multifaceted career. These ‘worlds of wonder’ draw visitors into narratives that are as enchanting as they are unsettling, revealing how identity, desire and self-representation are shaped by entertainment, advertising and online culture.

During this opening-day conversation, Fujiwara will speak about the ideas, processes and experiences that inform A Whole New World, and about his ongoing exploration of how images, stories and emotions circulate in contemporary life. This is an opportunity to encounter the artist at a pivotal moment in his career and to step into the exhibition through his own lens.
