In 2013, a huge row broke out in Diekirch when the traditional cross with the cockerel on the old Catholic Laurentius church was replaced by a donkey, the town's real landmark. Outraged citizens protested vehemently against this outrageous change. Ten years later, Diekirch is shaken by the cold-blooded murder of a municipal employee.
This crime seems to bring the long-forgotten story of the cockerel and the donkey back onto the agenda. During his investigations, however, Inspector Tom Becker realises that the motive for the murder goes deeper than this long-forgotten quarrel about the donkey on the church tower. Together with his colleague Sandra Biren and the officers of the police brigade from Diekirch, he is drawn into a maelstrom of mysterious machinations.
Immerse yourself in this gripping crime novel that uncovers the dark secrets of a sleepy town and pushes the investigators to their limits.
