Every year, on the second Sunday in October, up to 20,000 people from near and far come to Vianden. Not only nut lovers meet here: regular customers, young people, tourists, and curious people from all over the world make the nut market an undisputed, well-known, and popular venue.
Traditional celebration of Emmaus. Early on Easter Monday, a motley crowd jostles behind the Palace of the Grand Dukes on the small square of the Fishmarket, to buy one of the small whistling birds ("Péckvillercher") – made in baked clay – which are only sold that day.
