Bacon’s impossible desires

Where? 1, Marché-aux-Poissons -, L-2345 Luxembourg Training/Conferences

Themed tour

Guided tour.

with Vera Herold

What exactly is queer in Francis Bacon’s art? Three Studies for a Portrait of George Dyer was painted shortly after the two met and at the height of Bacon’s passion for the East End petty criminal. Despite its unique features, the triptych exemplifies how Bacon’s portraits bring the human flesh to the surface , exposing pulsations and emotions that society’s norms deem impossible and insist must hidden in the dark. This guided tour will be in English.
