Course Description

This parent-child djembe class offers a unique opportunity for families to connect through rhythm, sound, and shared experience.

Through the practice of djembe, both children and adults learn to listen, express themselves, and move in harmony in a joyful and welcoming environment. The djembe, a traditional West African drum, becomes a bridge between generations, bringing families together through the universal language of rhythm.

Each beat becomes a wordless exchange that strengthens bonds, builds focus, mutual listening, and rhythmic memory.

Percussion provides an accessible playground for everyone, helping to release tension, boost self-confidence, and support motor coordination and creativity.

Week after week, children and parents discover the basics of djembe together, explore traditional rhythms, and embark on a real musical and cultural journey.

Guided by Marcel, participants dive into the vibrant world of African music, learning not only technique but also the rich history and traditions that give the djembe its soul.
