In an African megacity, the constant symphony of mopeds, cars, carts and the cries of merchants and animals provides the soundtrack to daily life. Soledad lives in this acoustic chaos. Forcibly enlisted at the age of 14, she has killed men, women, the elderly and children.
War has turned the young woman into a dehumanised killing machine. Blessed with exceptional hearing, Soledad is reborn through music. It is said that she sang in her mother’s womb.
In her nightmares, she holds a machine gun. She tells her story as a child soldier through a combination of theatre, song, music and dance, celebrating the beauty of a world in decline.
