Wer ein Leben rettet
Wer ein Leben rettet
The travelling exhibition in German illustrates the biographies of eight exemplary Jewish children and young people who were deported from the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in April 1945 on the ‘Lost Transport’ and liberated near the mining village of Tröbitz in Lusatia. Using mostly unknown private photographs and illustrations, it shows the lives of Jewish families in the occupied countries, their deportation to the transit and concentration camps of the Third Reich, and their different life stories after their liberation in Tröbitz. The focus is on the Jewish children, who were deeply affected by the terrible experiences of persecution and the loss of close family members.
