The new film by the Nasser brothers plunges us into the lives of three Gazans in 2007, at the time of Hamas’s takeover and the blockade of the Gaza Strip imposed by Israel: Yahya, a somewhat lost student; Oussama, a dealer; and Abu Sami, a corrupt policeman. This feature film explores the social and political realities of Gaza through fiction. Completed shortly before October 7, 2023, the film portrays a population whose humanity has been denied but who refuse to surrender.
