VisitLuxembourg-App Challenges Terms and Conditions of Participation
Luxembourg for Tourism GIE, located at 6, rue Antoine de Saint-Exupéry L-1432 Luxembourg (hereinafter: the “organiser”), organises “Challenge(s)” with the possibility of winning prizes on the VisitLuxembourg app.
Participation in and completion of the challenges are governed by the following provisions.
Challenges
A selection of challenges of different durations are available year-round. Expired challenges will disappear, and new challenges will appear as they become available.
A challenge consists of collecting points by visiting points of interest on a hiking, biking or cultural tour. When each point of interest is reached, the user will need to check in to earn points. When a challenge has been completed, the participant will appear in a ranking with their player name. A participant who has completed a challenge will have the opportunity to register with their name and email address for a chance to win a prize. This is optional.
In order to participate in challenges, the application needs location permission. This is necessary to complete the check-in at the points of interest.
Points
- 25 points: beginning the challenge
- 100 points: each POI (attraction) visited and recorded
- 75 points: finishing the challenge
Participants
Participation in the challenges is free, with no purchase obligation, and open to any individual.
The participant is solely responsible for the accuracy of the data provided during registration. The participant shall confirm upon registration that the personal data provided is correct. If not, the participant may be ineligible to receive prizes.
The organiser reserves the right to exclude, at any time and without notice, any person who has committed fraud during a challenge.
Prizes
Prizes vary according to awarding method.
- Random draw: 10 2-day LuxembourgCards/two persons per draw
- Overall ranking: prizes may vary
Awarding methods
There will be two awarding methods.
- Random draw: all participants who have completed at least one challenge and returned the final form are eligible.
- Overall ranking: only the top three participants in the overall ranking will receive a gift. For the overall ranking, only challenges that have been completed at the time of awarding will be considered. If there is a tie among the finalists, a random draw will decide the winner.
Prizes will be awarded twice a year.
Winners will be contacted by Luxembourg for Tourism GIE by email. The results of random draws are not subject to appeal or legal action.
Prizes cannot be contested and cannot be taken back, exchanged by winners or exchanged for cash.
Liability, complaints and disputes
The organiser shall not be held liable in any way whatsoever if, in the event of force majeure or events beyond its control, it is required to cancel the challenges, shorten them, extend them, or modify the conditions or replace the prizes won with a prize of equivalent value or similar characteristics.
These rules are governed by Luxembourg law. Should any of these provisions be declared null and void, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Any complaint must be the subject of a written request addressed exclusively to the address of the organiser and must include the exact contact details of the author of the complaint. Written disputes and complaints relating to the challenges will no longer be considered after a period of 1 month following the closure of the periodic awards.
An attempt will be made to settle any dispute arising from the challenges amicably. The dispute shall fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The personal data collected are exclusively processed by the organiser for the purpose of awarding prizes. The data shall be treated strictly confidentially and in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the GDPR). Luxembourg for Tourism GIE uses the SendGrid service to send emails to users who have completed a challenge and wish to be eligible for prizes. To this end, the user’s IP address is transmitted to SendGrid.
The personal data will be stored in a form that allows the identification of data subjects for a period not exceeding that necessary with regard to the purpose for which they are processed and for a maximum duration of 18 months.
In accordance with the GDPR, the participant has a right to information, access, rectification, erasure and portability of personal data concerning them, as well as a right to restriction and/or a right to object to the processing of their information, which can be exercised by sending a request to the following address: Luxembourg for Tourism GIE, located at 6, rue Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
