Thematic paths Visit Minett
Nothing Is Permanent is a major exhibition of sculptures in public space in the city of Esch-sur-Alzette. Starting from Rathausplatz, a circular route connects 23 monumental works by established and up-and-coming national and international artists. Playful, contemplative or unusual, the works question the role of art in a rapidly changing urban and social context, stimulating the public to discover or rediscover the capital of the South from new perspectives.
Departing from the starting point at the Esch-sur-Alzette town square, the path first takes you in the direction of the "Schlassgoart" before the route returns to the town centre; past the municipal hospital "Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch" and the Badeanstalt, the path also leads through the Parc Laval. Returning to the city center and along the longest continuous pedestrian street in the Grand Duchy, the route then takes you to the Place de la Résistance and the Resistance Museum and the Municipal Theater before continuing towards the French border. The new art gallery in Esch is also located along the course. After that, the path briefly turns almost to the former industrial area "Rout Lëns" to the music conservatory, before returning again and finally ending in front of the old Ariston cinema, today part of the theatre.
