Post Service and Writing Instruments Museum
What did people write with in the past? Long before biros and computers, they used inkwells, pencil boxes and the earliest pens. The Museum of Writing Instruments shows how these changed over the years. In an original classroom from the year 1900, you can see the writing instruments in their natural environment. The Museum of Post Service takes you back to the 16th century, when this building was still a place where horses were watered and people could rest and take some refreshment. Discover the history of the Princely House of Thurn & Taxis, founders of the postal service, and find out how exciting it was to travel by stagecoach. The two exhibitions form part of the “Domaine touristique” and are opened on request.
