Brussels Jazz Orchestra & Tutu Puoane
We Have a Dream
Deze inhoud is helaas niet in het Nederlands beschikbaar.Music and human rights have always been closely linked. Protest songs against slavery, against war and for equal rights have been part of the history of music for centuries. Whether it’s blues, reggae, folk, rock, hip-hop or jazz, all genres seem to effortlessly embrace this endeavor.
Frank Vaganée and Tutu Puoane went through their record collection and extracted their favorite protest songs. The works of the likes of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Sting, Rod Stewart, and Donny Hathaway all resonate with themes of injustice, coercion, and inequality. Their message of hope is more relevant and urgent than ever.
The Brussels Jazz Orchestra is Belgium’s only professional big band. It has a reputation that stretches from Singapore to New York and has performed on stages all over the world.
