EN Leading contemporary circus ensemble Circa brings its latest production to the Grand Théâtre, this time alongside a live performance by the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg of Beethoven’s groundbreaking 9th Symphony and the participation of the Accentus chorus, both conducted by Laurence Equilbey. The Brisbane-based Circa, led by Yaron Lifschitz, is at the forefront of a circus new wave. They tour widely and have previously brought Opus and Il Ritorno to Luxembourg. Lifschitz created Circa / Beethoven 9 in response to a commission for Beethoven’s 250th birthday in 2020 from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He speaks of ”presenting the music in physical form“, with the Circa ensemble rising to create a human chain, build towers from their muscular bodies and echo the repeating shapes of the music as it explodes out of chaos to the choral harmony of its conclusion.
FR Pour les festivités du Nouvel An, les Théâtres de la Ville invitent le metteur en scène australien Yaron Lifschitz à présenter son spectacle Beethoven 9. Avec dix artistes de sa compagnie Circa, Yaron Lifschitz crée une partition physique pour l’immense chef-d’œuvre du répertoire symphonique qu’est la 9e symphonie de Beethoven. Une chorégraphie chargée d’émotion, tissée de manière complexe pour refléter la partition. Une habileté extrême et des acrobaties spectaculaires sont au programme de cette grande célébration de l’humanité, où les frontières entre le mouvement, la musique, la danse
et le théâtre s’effacent. Un spectacle festif, où les artistes de la compagnie Circa démontrent toute leur virtuosité acrobatique dans une explosion électrisante de physicalité et de puissance. Sur scène, on retrouve l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg et le chœur Accentus sous la direction de Laurence Equilbey.
DE Die zeitgenössische Zirkuskompanie Circa wagt sich an eine physische Partitur für eines der Meisterwerke des symphonischen Repertoires: Beethovens Neunte. Unter der Leitung von Yaron Lifschitz präsentieren zehn Weltklasse-ArtistInnen Beethovens Musik in körperlicher Form – mit emotionsgeladenen Choreografien, die die Partitur auf komplexe Weise widerspiegeln. Unterstützt werden die AustralierInnen vom Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg und dem Chor Accentus unter Dirigentin Laurence Equilbey. Äußerste Kunstfertigkeit und dramatische Akrobatik werden bei diesem großen Fest der Menschlichkeit zu Silvester gezeigt, in dem die Grenzen zwischen Bewegung, Musik, Tanz und Theater verschwimmen.
