At the age of 32, Elena, a creative theatre director from Bulgaria, realises she will not be able to get pregnant and have children of her own. Facing a choice between conceiving in-vitro with her husband Leon and developing a supportive art therapy for abandoned children in Africa, Elena gradually redefines the meaning of the word “mother”.
