Villa romaine d'Echternach
Villa romaine d'Echternach
On the outskirts of the town of Echternach is one of the largest and richest estates in the north-western provinces of the Roman Empire. The mansion, which was completely excavated during the course of archaeological research, resembles a real palace, with its foundations, cellars and ornamental basins preserved. Today, this museum site presents more than 70 medicinal and ornamental plants in a Roman garden. An information centre provides a clear and vivid picture of everyday life in this mansion at the time of the Romans.
