Since its first concept CD, The Luxembourg Jazz Session, released in 2015, where Opus78 set out to promote the national jazz scene and primarily focus on Luxembourgish artists and composers, the Big Band is now proud to present and launch its second album, The Luxembourg Jazz Session – Volume 2. It was recorded at Aalt Stadhaus in March 2022, featuring compositions by emerging talents in the Luxembourgish and international jazz scene, including Maxime Bender, Gilles Burgund, Raoul Christophe, Gilles Grethen, Ernie Hammes, Jitz Jeitz, and Laurent Pierre.

Gilles Grethen is a Luxembourgish jazz guitarist born in 1994, who studied at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, the Hochschule für Musik Saar, and the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim. He has established himself as an undisputed pillar of the Luxembourgish jazz scene, both nationally and internationally. The Artikuss hosted the artist in a one-week residency, providing him with the opportunity to collaborate with a big band of handpicked musicians. Throughout this period, the guitarist crafted new jazz compositions that will be showcased on our stage.
