LUXEMBOURG – UNE VILLE FORTIFIÉE
The two models in the museum explain the development of the fortress town
Taking pride of place in the museum, the plan-relief in the auditorium shows the state of the fortress in 1802. The bronze model dating from 1903, based on a plaster model by Captain Guillaume Weydert, shows the fortress in its full extent in 1867. Both models provide a playful illustration of the development of the fortifications and the transformation of the capital into a fortress-city.
