Fever is an interactive experience in virtual reality created by Karolina Markiewicz and Pascal Piron as part of the European Month of Photography (EMOP).
The piece thematises the state of high fever when one has fallen ill. Children with high fever may have brief hallucinations (mainly visual and auditory). Fever refers to these brief hallucinations that involve metaphorically the awareness of one’s own body and the environment as well as surrounding bodies.
Hands belonging to different bodies have been photographed and recreated in 3D models. They form a whole spectrum that slowly floats around the visitor.
Depending on the movements and the speed, the spectrum approaches the visitor. The more he / she moves, the more the spectrum approaches.
