In the evening of June 1st, the narrow and picturesque streets of Luxembourg City will be transformed into a huge running track where thousands of runners try to master a half- or full marathon. Spectators can enjoy the race to the beat of the music. The ING Night Marathon starts at 7 pm at the modern Kirchberg district.
Only a few days later, professional cyclists from near and far will cross the various regions of the country in 5 stages. The Skoda Tour de Luxembourg is definitely worth watching as some of the best cyclists from all over the world will be present.
The ultimate challenge for sports addicts is the IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg on June 16th. The Moselle region is the perfect location for a triathlon. With a 1,9 km swim in the Moselle river, followed by 90 km cycling through the beautiful vineyards and a finishing run of 21,1 km along the scenic riverside, athletes will be relieved when they arrive to the town of Remich where people will cheer for each and every participant.
The ING Route du Vin is another great race held in the Moselle region, on September 29th. This half-marathon leads you along the Moselle river and offers spectacular views of the unique landscapes covered with vines.
And if you want to discover the former industrial region, make sure that you don't miss the Red Rock Challenge from October 12th to 13th, may it be as a mountain biker, runner or Nordic walker.
