At the Slate Museum in Haut-Martelange, every visitor will live an exiting journey through time back to the Slate industry of the 20. Century. Join us in a guided tour through the industrial and social architecture of the area that counts around 8ha of size. Receive a full overview of the lives and works of the miners and their families 200 years ago in Luxembourg and discover the history of the extraction of slate, the industrial works, administration and living parts of the area.
Let yourself be amazed by the underground mine where you can descend to -15 meter or see how the roofing slate was shaped.
The guided tour will take about 2,5h.
A jacket and closed shoes are highly recommended for a visit of the underground mine (temperature of 9°).
The guided tours take place every first Sundays of the months from May to October, and each Wednesday and Sunday of the months in July and August, every time at 3:00 PM.
