About the tour

The site itself consists of slate - harmonious and complete - and is unique in Europe: a prestigious vestige of the slate industry in the Grand Duchy. A guided tour of the site familiarises you with stone extraction and treatment and with working conditions at the quarry.

The museum can be visited individually from May to October every first Sunday of the month. At these days, the site can be visited from 10:00 to 18:00, with the possibility to take a trip on the narrow gauge railway (14:30-18:00) and take part in the guided tour at 15:00. An additional guided tour is organised at 15:00 on Wednesdays and Sundays in July and August but without the possibility of taking the train. The site is only opened during the visit.
