This challenging and varied hiking trail passes through forests, along streams and rock formations. The departure is at the parking lot of Beaufort castle. The hiking trail passes next to the castle over a wooden pontoon to Klingelbur (old wash fountain of the castle). Further along there is Klaisgen (a small chapel 50 m to the left of the route) and then the rock formations of Birkbaach and Herkuleskapp. You then follow the edge of the Beaufort plateau above Saueruecht, a natural forest reserve, to descend near Köppeglee to the picturesque valley of Halerbaach and Haupeschbaach. Go back to back to the starting point.
