Wenzel Circular Walk
This tour through space and time shows you 1000 years of history! Rated an «outstanding cultural itinerary» by the Council of Europe, the walk connects the upper and lower town and offers amazing views of the fortress ramparts. You’ll discover the “Bock” promontory, the old town, the Wenceslas ring wall, the Alzette valley and Luxembourg’s unique fortifications. Tickets and a descriptive leaflet of this tour are available at the Luxembourg City Tourist Office. (Advantage of the Luxembourg Card: 30% discount on the regular price.)
This trail provides information about the various aspects of the natural environment and the man-made environment in the city of Luxembourg (fortress, old town and the parts of the town outside the walls). It describes the landscape and the biotopes present, and also deals with subjects like market gardening and urbanisation. This route is identical to the Wenzel cultural route, which received the Henry Ford prize for conservation of nature and heritage in Europe in 1996.
Circular walk also accessible without guide.
