The Manternach centre "A Wiewesch", an ancient renovated farm, is located at the heart of the village next to the “Manternacher Fiels” nature reserve. An ideal situation for starting ravine-forest treks.
Dream Loop "Manternacher Fiels"
Large parts of the Moselle Valley are characteristic of the Triassic period. The abundance of shells and corals led to the formation of an enormous layer of lime. It is to that lime area that the dreamlike “Manternacher Fiels” river bend will lead you. Located in the Syr Valley, a 32- kilometre long affluent of the Moselle River, the Township of Manternach was in the past an important place for the paper and steel industry. The track will lead you through the vineyards of the nature reserve to the ancient orchards on the Lellig Plateau. Historic mills, ravines and superb vistas will accompany you all along the trail, together with the truly impressive richness of its explanatory panels (9.6 km).
