First, you cycle through quiet housing areas south of Thionville before this tour leads you to the hilly landscapes of the attractive Saargau, passing by the impressive Maginot Line defence constructions of the Hackenberg. Cycling alongside the German-French frontier, you drive down to Perl and Apach located at the point where three countries meet. From here, you take the Moselle Cycle Path, passing below the medieval fortress of Sierck-les-Bains and discovering the Moselle meadows near Basse-Ham. Crossing the suburb of Yutz you will reach your starting point again, located close to the city centre of Thionville with its centuries old buildings well worth seeing.
