Neumünster Abbey cultural centre
Nowadays, the former Benedictine abbey in the iconic Grund district of the city is an open, welcoming venue for concerts and festivals, although for a long time the large building served as a prison. Following extensive restoration, it has been a public meeting place and cultural centre since 2004. Its purpose is to strengthen Luxembourg’s cultural identity and promote intercultural dialogue. The abbey offers a programme of concerts, plays and artists-in-residence as well as a range of free exhibitions that are open daily. The lovely terrace of the Brasserie Wenzel offers excellent views of the fortress. Try vegan brunch on Saturdays from 11:00 or live jazz and brunch on Sundays at 11:00.
Guided tours can be arranged on request.
