Shortly after their accession to the throne, Her Majesties Willem-Alexander and Maxima, King and Queen of the Netherlands bring their first visit abroad, to Luxembourg, on May 24th. All sympathizers of the Dutch or grand-ducal crown may assist, in the old part of Luxembourg city, at 11.15 am, at the arrival by official car and at the walk of the Dutch Sovereigns, the Grand Duke Henri and the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa to the grand-ducal palace. The relations between both countries always were strong. The Dutch King was also Grand-Duke of Luxembourg from 1815 to 1890.
Mit der ganzjährig angebotenen "LuxembourgCard" können über 50 touristische Sehenswürdigkeiten unseres Landes und der Großregion kostenlos besichtigt werden. Darüber hinaus gewährt dieser touristische Pass während einem, zwei oder drei Tagen zusätzlich die freie Benutzung von Bahn und Bus in Stadt und Land.
Auch über Ostern können Benutzer nach Lust und Laune Museen, Schlösser und Burgen, Weinkeller aber auch Freizeiteinrichtungen wie etwa das Tourist Center "Robbesscheier" oder den Märchenpark in Bettemburg besichtigen. Ausserdem berechtigt das Vorzeigen der LuxembourgCard zu einer Ermässigung bei der halb- oder ganztägigen Schlossrundfahrt in den Luxemburger Ardennen, bei Ausflügen mit dem Solarboot im Naturpark Obersauer, mit den Moselschiffen "MS Princesse Marie-Astrid" und "Roude Léiw", dem Industrie- und Eisenbahnpark Fond-de-Gras, dem "Petruss Express" und dem "Hop on – Hop off"-Bus in der Stadt Luxemburg. Dieser Pass ermöglicht sogar die kostenlose Teilnahme an einer geführten “City Promenade“ in der Stadt Luxemburg oder in Ettelbrück.
